Dr. Scott Higer

Dr. Scott Higer has been practicing at Meridian Veterinary Hospital since 1993, with ownership since 1996. He grew up in Caldwell and did his undergraduate studies at both Northwest Nazarene University and the University of Idaho. He attended the College of Veterinary Medicine at Washington State University where he received his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 1993. His special interests include orthopedic/soft tissue surgery and ultrasonography. Dr. Higer along with his wife Karen and two kids Jessica and Keith live on acreage with their wide variety of pets and livestock. He volunteers as a soccer coach, helps with area 4-H programs, is an active member of the Lakeview Bible Church. His hobbies include outdoor sports and camping, along with taking care of his livestock and pets with his family.

Dr. Mandy Bergstrom

Dr. Mandy Bergstrom is a native of Tucson, Arizona. She obtained her undergraduate degree from Arizona State University. While pursuing her degree she was a competitive member of the ASU Pac 10 diving team. Dr. Bergstrom obtained her veterinary degree from Washington State University in 2005. After veterinary school she completed a one year internship in Colorado training with board certified veterinary specialists. She then continued to further her education and moved back to Tucson for an emergency and critical care internship. Dr. Bergstrom moved to Idaho in 2007 with her husband Tom who is an associate doctor at Idaho Equine hospital. Dr. Bergstrom and her husband live in Star with their 3 dogs, 3 cats and horses. Dr. Bergstrom enjoys gardening, cooking, and fly fishing. She is excited to be the newest member of Meridian Veterinary Hospital.

Dr. Nick Kalafatic

Dr. Nick Kalafatic has been practicing at Meridian Veterinary Hospital as an associate since 2003. He grew up in Ely, Nevada and did his undergraduate work at the University of Nevada-Reno. He attended the University of Missouri-Columbia in Missouri where he received a Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 1997. His special interests include orthopedic and soft tissue surgery. Dr. Kalafatic and his wife Jennifer own Outback Stallion Station where they specialize in Equine reproduction. He also enjoys all outdoor activities with Jennifer, son Cole and daughter Claire.
